I know simply by following Gokey on social media that he welcomes several families into the organization often. The organization provides a place to live for homeless families in Nashville and has expanded to care for a growing number of families each year. Sophia’s HeartĪmong other things, American Idol also helped provide a platform for Danny to launch Sophia’s Heart, an organization founded to carry on the legacy of giving started by his late wife. Congrats to Danny Gokey! That is awesome.
Plus, I read that “Hope In Front of Me” debuted at #1 on the Billboard CCM chart. Just as Danny Gokey sings, “ you’ll be alright.” The storms are tough to get through but when you finally see that big sun shining… that hope in front of you… it’s then that you know. I don’t know about you, but I have been RIGHT there. "Loving someone like you value yourself isn't always easy in our self-preservation culture, but when we experience the love God has for us, we can't help but allow it to spill out to others. "We've been taught that since we were little kids, but do we really put it into practice as adults?" Danny asks of the message behind the fresh track. Putting legs to his lyrics, throughout the month of June, the singer and his wife, Leyicet, encouraged fans to take part in a 30-day challenge to use their words to build others up and live out the lyrics of his new song. The father of four takes his cues from Luke 10:27 (NLT), which says, "The man answered, 'You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.' And 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'" Then, in a vibrant chorus, he reminds us that the Christian life revolves around two basic tenants: Love God. "Gotta keep it real simple, bring everything back to ground zero," he sings, after fully admitting that he tends to overcomplicate and overthink things as much as the next person.
